Kart: high-level performance for LeCont tyres at the World Cup in Cremona

Launched in 2023, the OK-N Junior category celebrated its very first World Cup from 25th to 28th September in Italy, on the Cremona circuit. LeCont was chosen by the FIA Karting to supply tyres for the category. The event was a great success and the quality of the Italian brand's "option" tyres delighted the competitors, both on a dry track and in the rain. LeCont also returned to the Junior Academy Trophy for the third and final round, which produced a thrilling title battle.

Girardello sets the absolute record for the event with LeCont

Italy's Gioele Girardello took pole position in the OK-N Junior World Cup with a time of 47.932, while the OK-N category clocked 48.602 in Qualifying, more than six tenths of a second slower! Then, during the race, the time differences between the drivers were extremely small, with a consistency that LeCont always seeks to optimise when manufacturing its tyres. Although the drivers only had six tyres available for the entire competition, from qualifying to the Final, Girardello managed to further improve his lap times at the very end of the race, setting an absolute record of 47.781 with two tyres that had been used for more than 100 kilometres! By comparison, at the Italian Championship in Cremona in July, contested with another manufacturer, the record stood at 48.524.

Remarkable times at the FIA Karting Junior Academy Trophy

After the success of the events in Valencia, Spain, in May, then in Mülsen, Germany, in July, the 2025 trophy ended on a high note. Many drivers still had a good chance of winning the title and the suspense lasted until the very end. The fastest time in this "arrive and drive" category was also faster than in OK-N, with 48.488 in Qualifying and even 48.459 in the Final with the same set of slick tyres. LeCont's relentless development work continues to bear fruit, whether with slicks or rain tyres. Both types were used successfully during the event in both categories.

Girardello, Stasionis and Vettenranta on top in Cremona

LeCont congratulates all the drivers who took part in the OK-N Junior World Cup and the Junior Academy Trophy, which saw Lithuanian Nojus Stasionis win the Final. Finishing 2nd ahead of Denmark's Marc Alexander Reistrup, Finland's Oiva Vettenranta took the crown ahead of France's Maël Le Marchand. In OK-N Junior, Italy's Gioele Girardello made the difference in the Final ahead of his compatriot Michele Orlando and Switzerland's Albert Tamm.

Manufacturer LeCont is preparing for 10 intense days in Franciacorta with the Champions of the Future Shifter event organised by RGMMC from 1st to 4th October, followed by the FIA Karting World Championship for the KZ, KZ2 and KZ2 Master categories from 9th to 12th October.
