Already a partner of the CIK-FIA in 2025 with the Academy Trophy - Junior, LeCont also supplied tyres to drivers competing in the third and final round of the European Championships in KZ and KZ2 in Mülsen. The eagerly awaited German competition lived up to all expectations. The Italian manufacturer's tyres proved particularly effective throughout the event. In addition to the lap record being broken, the 2025 champions were crowned after some very intense races. LeCont is already ready to take on new challenges, such as the Junior Academy Trophy Final in Cremona and the KZ-KZ2-KZ2 Master World Championship in Franciacorta in a few weeks' time.

A well-oiled organisation

It was with pride, expertise and professionalism that LeCont welcomed the CIK-FIA's decision to entrust it with the supply of tyres for the final rounds of the 2025 season in the KZ, KZ2 and KZ2 Masters categories. The deadline was tight, but the Rovereto factory was able to react quickly to ensure quality service for drivers and teams at the Mülsen event held from 17th to 20th July in eastern Germany.

Excellent feedback from the drivers

The Arena-E track is very demanding: an average speed of over 103 km/h per lap in KZ-KZ2, fast corners, selective chicanes and heavy braking, particularly at the end of the straight, where drivers reach speeds of nearly 155 km/h. It was essential to have strong grip and consistent lap times in the Final. In this context, the drivers' reactions were eagerly awaited and the quality of LeCont's "prime" tyres was highly praised in the Mülsen paddock. In addition, on Friday morning during Free Practice, Senna Van Walstijn set a new circuit record of 45.771 seconds.

Tyres enhance incredible battles

The Mülsen complex hosted an FIA Karting event for the first time and it was a resounding success. Clearly, LeCont contributed to this success with lively races, lots of overtaking, action, twists and turns and suspense. In KZ, three different teams took the podium honours in Germany. Mattéo Spirgel scored a double victory by winning the Final ahead of Giuseppe Palomba and Danilo Albanese, as well as the European Championship title at the expense of Pedro Hiltbrand, who was very unlucky in the Final. In KZ2, Maksim Orlov was crowned champion ahead of Markus Kajak after another victory ahead of Jayden Thien and Timo Jüngling.

Consistent performances in the Junior Academy Trophy

After Valencia, the Arena-E hosted the second round of this Trophy, which will conclude from 25th to 28th September in Cremona, Italy, not far from LeCont's headquarters. Oiva Vettenranta's victory in Germany ahead of Switzerland's Nicola Frigg and Denmark's Marc Alexander Reistrup promises a suspenseful finale, as the Finn is now tied on points with France's Maël Le Marchand, with Ecuador's Julian Rivera Salas in third place, just one point behind.

In addition to the competition in Cremona in September, enthusiasts can already look forward to a major international FIA Karting event from 9th to 12th October during the KZ World Championship, the KZ2 World Cup and the KZ2 Masters International Super Cup. Of course, LeCont technology will be part of this highlight of the 2025 season.
