Kart: SWS e-Sprint International Final 2025 / Belgium hosts the third edition
Reportagem: Sodi World Series

Electric competition continues to gain ground in the world of leisure karting. In 2024, the number of drivers taking part in the Sodi W Series, the biggest international ranking in leisure karting, with electric engines exceeded 1300, more than doubling since 2022, while the number of circuits hosting this innovation reached forty, with 600 races organised around the world, opening up to new countries. The popularity of the SWS e-Sprint International Final is also growing. This time it's Belgium, a major country for leisure kart racers, which will host the 3rd edition of the SWS e-Sprint International Final at the prestigious Wavre Indoor Karting site owned by the De Mevius brothers, on 23rd and 24th May 2025. Live-streaming will be introduced for the first time at this event.

The perfect setting in Belgium

Wavre Indoor Karting is aiming to become the leading indoor karting centre in Europe. WIK is keen to excel down to the smallest detail in order to offer the best service in complete safety, and wants to pass on its love of motor sport through a sense of belonging to a big family of enthusiasts. Creative and always on the lookout for technological innovation, the WIK management is delighted to be able to offer the international SWS e-Sprint finalists a unique experience in a warm, professional and environmentally-friendly setting based on a new track.

More international participants

In a rapidly developing field, it is only logical that participation in the 2025 SWS e-Sprint International Final should increase to 98 drivers from three continents and 21 nations, including the USA, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Kuwait. In the absence of the two previous champions, a third driver will be crowned in Belgium this year. Among the many contenders, Belgian Baptiste Vanderbeke, runner-up in 2024, is a possible favourite for victory. The women will have their own podium.

Race format confirmed

The race format inaugurated last year has been unanimously approved and will be continued for 2025, with its two separate days of Timed Practice, Qualifying Heats and Finals. The total points awarded for each race will decide the winners, with the same intensity as a multi-event Championship. Recently launched by Sodi, the new lead box system for electric karts will of course be part of the event.

Brand new SODI electric karts

A fleet of brand new Sodi RSX 2 V2s will enable the selected drivers to compete on equal terms in the best possible conditions. The product of a long evolution and years of hard work by Sodi's R&D department and production teams, the RSX 2 represents the highest level in the current development of the electric leisure range.

Strong partners and prestigious prizes

- BRP-Rotax will be giving the winner a ticket to take part in the Sarno round of the Rotax Max Challenge Euro Trophy in the E20 category.
- ITAKA Shop will be on hand with a dedicated shop and a host of vouchers.
- Bell will be rafflung off one of its helmets at the event.
- Mak Design will be offering its much-loved helmet covers.
- OMP Racing Force will be presenting its latest creations through the ITAKA shop.

At the traditional closing ceremony, the winners will be presented with their prizes at the Wavre Indoor Karting site during a celebration meal, during which the date and venue of the 2026 edition will be announced, as well as an exciting new feature.

The 2025 SWS e-Sprint International Final will be held at the venue and can be followed live on the website and social networks on 24th and 25th May, as well as via streaming on YouTube.
