Reportagem: Dario Cabanelas

Dario Cabanelas is preparing to continue his adventure in the Eurocup-3 single-seater championship with great excitement, determination and ambition. The 17-year-old Swiss driver, who also has Spanish and Ukrainian roots, has chosen to join the renowned MP Motorsport team to achieve his goals.

An important year in the career of the promising Dario Cabanelas is about to begin. Successively noticed for his exponential potential revealed in karting and then in F4 within the FFSA Academy, Dario entered Eurocup-3 during the latter part of 2023.

"My season was short, but it will remain an excellent experience," recalls Dario. "I took part in four races at famous circuits such as Jerez, Estoril, Valencia and Barcelona. I was able to get to know the single-seater, which is really very competitive. It's a Tatuus with a 270bhp Alfa Romeo engine and Hankook tyres. The chassis is identical to the one used in the Formula Regional European Championship, but the budget is more reasonable in Eurocup-3".

This series has now acquired its credentials and will have an even more international orientation. The calendar, which runs from April to November, includes such iconic circuits as Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Red Bull Ring in Austria, Portimao in Portugal, Paul Ricard in France and Zandvoort in the Netherlands, as well as Motorland Aragon, Jerez and Barcelona in Spain.

Dario Cabanelas will be able to draw on the know-how and experience of MP Motorsport. Runner-up in the 2023 championship, the Dutch team will clearly be aiming for the title, as will the Swiss driver! To meet this challenge, Dario has concentrated on his physical preparation, thanks to intense work with his fitness coach. His excellent private testing in the off-season has confirmed his ambitions, pointing to a bright future for the young hopeful.

"I'm extremely motivated by the idea of fighting for the title of champion in 2024. I know the competition will be fierce, but I'm confident in my abilities. I'm also grateful to my fans and supporters. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my long-standing partners who will be with me again in 2024: Coris Innovation, Ma Fondue, Tome-Up, Holisquare and the Fondation d'aide aux sportifs vaudois. In addition, I am delighted to present my new partnership with the Harvest Group, founded by a great name in sport, judoka Almaz Alsenov."
