Bogdan Cosma Cristofor hasn't gone very long without a win. The winner of an IAME Series Italy event at the end of July, he kicked off the WSK Euro Series with another victory in the Mini 60 category on Sunday 3rd September 2023. On the Italian circuit of Franciacorta, not far from Brescia, Bogdan emerged victorious from a particularly hard-fought Final, proof of his fighting spirit and determination. With each competition, Bogdan confirms his status as one of Romania's great motorsport hopefuls.

A week after his pole position in the Italian Championship, the talented Bogdan Cosma Cristofor returned to the Driver Racing Kart team and its KR-IAME package to start a new prestigious series organised by WSK Promotion. The WSK Euro Series is spread over just two meetings, with a second event scheduled for early November at Sarno near Naples. The Romanian driver was keen to score as many points as possible in the opening round at Franciacorta, and he did just that...

Victory in the Final and leader of the WSK Euro Series

Already very fast in the final Free Practice session before the official Qualifying session, Bogdan immediately took P2 in the aggregate standings, with the fastest time in his group. With two wins out of three in the heats, he climbed to the top of the intermediate standings on Saturday evening. On Sunday, the tension was ratcheted up a notch. In both the Prefinals and the Final, the battle raged at the front of the field, with constant overtaking and position changes. It's all down to nerves of steel!

But the 12-year-old driver had plenty of resources. 5th in Prefinal A, he retained his position as leader on the starting grid for the Final. After an excellent start, the Driver Racing Kart driver managed to stay in the lead for several laps, before seeing his rivals put the pressure on him. "The end of the race was incredible," admitted Bogdan. "I had to stay calm, not give up and opt for the best strategy, and that's what I managed to do. I regained the lead in the Final at the right moment and was able to create a small gap which enabled me to stay in the lead until the chequered flag came down. I'm proud to see the Romanian flag at the top of the podium and to be able to sing our national anthem in the Franciacorta circuit. The WSK Euro Series is one of the most renowned international karting competitions and it's satisfying to be top of the overall standings."

Ranked 3rd in the WSK Champions Cup in February, then 3rd again in the WSK Super Master Series final standings in April, Bogdan Cosma Cristofor continues to confirm his remarkable progress, which culminated in the WSK Open Series title in June and now victory in the WSK Euro Series at the beginning of September.

"I would especially like to thank Devid De Luchi, my team manager, Francesco, my mechanic, Alberto and Iacopo, my engine specialists, Catalin Caloianu, Dragos Gulie, as well as Miko Med, Miko Dental and Urban Automobile, my partners," concluded Bogdan.
