As a leading name in karting tyres on the international stage, the Italian brand LeCont successfully fulfilled its role at the opening round of the KZ & KZ2 European Championship, held at the Karting Genk circuit from 21st to 24th May 2026. As the official supplier for these two categories for the European and World FIA Karting seasons, LeCont has once again demonstrated its ability to meet the high demands of this competition.

LeCont contributes to the European spectacle at the "Home of Champions"

Fitted with LeCont LPM "Prime" slick tyres, the drivers enjoyed a particularly high level of performance and consistency throughout the Belgian weekend, regardless of the track conditions encountered at Genk. The quality of the Italian product contributed to the intensity of the battles in both KZ and KZ2, allowing the many participants and teams to develop their equipment with confidence and fully exploit their potential in an extremely competitive sporting environment.

Ensuring competitor satisfaction

Accustomed to tackling the most demanding challenges thanks to solid experience gained at the highest level of world karting over many years, LeCont also confirmed the efficiency of its logistics and service at this FIA Karting event. These elements constitute one of the Italian manufacturer's great strengths, and it will ensure the same standards are maintained at the next two events: in Sarno in early July for the conclusion of the European Championship and in September for the highly anticipated World Championship at Le Mans.

Another record for LeCont

Right from the official start of the event, Maksim Orlov broke the track record during Friday's Free Practice, setting a remarkable lap time of 50.398 seconds at an average speed of over 97 km/h! A series of top-class performances followed, from Qualifying through to the Finals, making for a thrilling spectacle to watch.

Malheiro Suñe and Goldstein take the first wins

LeCont congratulates all the drivers who distinguished themselves at Genk, and especially those who received trophies during the event. Danilo Albanese (ITA) in KZ and Arthur Lehouck (FRA) in KZ2 were rewarded by LeCont for their magnificent pole positions. In the Final, Adrian Malheiro Suñe (ESP) took the top step of the KZ podium after an incredible final lap. Stan Pex (NED) and Danilo Albanese (ITA) completed the top three in that order. In KZ2, Elie Goldstein (BEL) won on home soil after a perfect start to the Final. He finished ahead of Matheus Morgatto (BRA) and Kimi Tani (FIN).
