Reportagem: LeCont Srl

The last few weeks have been marked by positive signs for LeCont, confirming the Italian manufacturer's strong involvement in major international competitions. In early July, a new agreement was signed between the FIA and LeCont for the supply of tyres for the KZ categories for the end of the 2025 European Championship and the major world event to be held in October in Franciacorta. In the days that followed, the performance of LeCont tyres was confirmed by the success of the WSK Euro Series final in Cremona.

A new partnership with FIA Karting

Already present this season in the Academy Trophy – Junior with its CIK/FIA-approved "Option" tyres, LeCont will make its return to major FIA Karting events in the gearbox categories. From 17th to 20th July, drivers and teams competing in the European KZ and KZ2 Championships in Mülsen will use the "Prime" tyres developed by the Rovereto factory.

This new partnership will extend to the Franciacorta event organised from 9th to 12th October across three major world karting events: the KZ World Championship, the KZ2 World Cup and the KZ2 Masters International Super Cup. LeCont is proud to announce this great news and will do everything possible to ensure the satisfaction of the competitors.

LeCont efficiency

Following the success of the WSK Super Master Series at the start of the season, LeCont congratulates Luca De Donno and WSK Promotion on the success of the new edition of the WSK Euro Series, which took place on the Viterbo and Cremona circuits with a large number of drivers. LeCont was pleased to supply its "Prime" tyres to the drivers in the OK category. They were able to enjoy significant competitiveness on the demanding 1,210-metre Kartodromo Cremona Circuit track.

Compared to 2024, lap times improved further during this WSK Euro Series. Spain's Christian Costoya set the absolute meeting record of 46.907 seconds at an average speed of nearly 94 km/h when he took pole position. This was faster than the 47.140 seconds set by Austria's Niklas Schaufler at the WSK Final Cup at the end of the previous season.

The performance of LeCont tyres remained high and consistent throughout the competition. A time of 47.141 seconds was achieved in the third heat with already worn tyres. On the last day, Costoya again managed to lap in 46.9 seconds, both in the Prefinal and in the Final. LeCont congratulates all the competitors who took part in the 2025 WSK Euro Series, and especially the top three drivers in the OK overall standings: Spain's Christian Costoya, Italy's Filippo Sala and Sweden's Oliver Kinnmark.
