Throughout the year, the top young international drivers competing in the 60 Mini class meet in Italy. At the Trofeo di Primavera on Sunday 6th March 2022, the event featured a magnificent field of 46 drivers of many different nationalities. Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor arrived at the Lonato circuit, located between Brescia and Verona, determined to fight for the podium and he did not disappoint.

The absolute fastest time of the day

Compared to other competitions that are spread over three days, the Trofeo Primavera is held in a single day and it is therefore important to perform well from the start of the action. Bogdan immediately managed to set the fastest time in the warm-up with a significant gap to his rivals. "It was ideal to build up confidence before Qualifying, but also proof that the team has been working in the right direction," Bogdan admitted.

Less than two hours later, the Romanian transformed his speed into a remarkable pole position with 52"867: a time that would not be beaten throughout the day! The two heats clearly confirmed Bogdan's dominance over the field, the young driver showing himself to be majestic during the start phases and extremely competitive afterwards.

Suspense before the delivery

In the Final, Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor made another clean sweep. Leader from start to finish, he crossed the finish line as a great winner, a few days before his 11th birthday. "Compared to the heats, my pursuers didn't let me widen the gap as much as I would have liked and we had to fight until the end. The finish was extremely close, as I won by only 2 thousandths. It was a great emotional moment and I thank my team and all those who supported me."

The Trofeo di Primavera has the particularity of being contested over two meetings and Bogdan will have his heart set on trying to win the title on 20th March. His brother David has intensified his training in the Junior category and is looking forward to his first race in this category.

Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor is today one of the most promising prospects in Romania. This young karting driver was born on 25rd March, 2011. He made his first steps in competition in 2018. Motivated by the success of his brother David, a year older than him, he quickly progressed on the circuits in his home country, before getting involved at the international level.

The world's best drivers in the Mini category are now used to meeting in Italy and Bogdan has not hesitated to compete with them, constantly improving his results in the last two seasons. With the Gulstar Racing team, he now wants to move up a gear and regularly finish in the international top 10 and to aim for the podium as soon as possible.
