Kart: third podium in three races for Sodi
Reportagem: Sodi Racing Team

Race after race, the official drivers from the Sodi Racing Team are taking international podiums. After the double victory for Senna Van Walstijn and Emilien Denner in the WSK Champions Cup and the second consecutive victory for the Dutchman in the opening race of the WSK Super Master Series, the Frenchman Denner climbed to the second step of the podium in the next race of the series. In Lonato, in one of the temples of world karting, the Sigma 2022 chassis made another strong impression in KZ2, as well as in OK-Junior.

The Sodi Racing Team was once again pleased with the overall performance of the French chassis in its third international outing this season. The team members were rewarded with an excellent result, but it is above all the extreme competitiveness of the equipment that should be highlighted. At the top of the timesheets, Sodi-TM Racing karts could frequently be seen, as was the case in Timed Practice with Émilien Denner's pole position - ahead of his team-mate Senna Van Walstijn - and later in the Final with the fastest lap in the race achieved by Van Walstijn.

Top performance for Denner in Italy

After three wins in the Qualifying Heats for Denner and two for Van Walstijn, the first Prefinal saw this impeccable duo take the first two places, just before the sensation created by Arthur Carbonnel, 2nd in his Prefinal despite starting in 9th position! However, a few other incidents also cost these three drivers precious points. On the starting grid of the Final, Denner was in 5th position, Van Walstijn in 11th and Carbonnel in 14th. Perfectly managed by the high quality technical staff, the three drivers all managed to make significant progress.

Starting with Émilien Denner, who made a brilliant comeback to 2nd position at the chequered flag. "Of course, victory was close," commented the Frenchman. "However, I had a retirement in a heat that forced me to make a lot of effort to come back. I would have had to come back to the wake of the winner earlier to hope to overtake him. It's a pity, because I felt that he was within my reach." The WSK Super Master Series title will be decided in the final race in March at Sarno, and Denner will arrive there as a strong contender. For his part, Senna Van Walstijn will obviously have his card to play. In Lonato, a spoiler penalty pushed him back to 11th position, but his fastest lap in the race proved that he is still a contender for victory. As for Arthur Carbonnel, he finished in style, moving up from 14th to 7th place with times within a tenth of the winner!

The Sodi chassis stands out in Junior

Sodikart once again demonstrated its potential in this highly competitive category. British driver Nathan Tye immediately took 4th place in the Timed Qualifying, while French driver Andy Consani held a magnificent 7th position in the Final, before having to retire. Unfortunately, Tye had some incidents in the heats, but made a remarkable recovery from 29th to 13th in the Final.

"Once again, Sodikart has confirmed the wisdom of its choices," commented Mansel Smith, team manager of the Sodi Racing Team. "At each race Emilien Denner and Senna Van Walstijn demonstrate their speed and their willingness to wear our colours loud and clear. On the technical and logistical level, the collaboration with CPB Sport continues to bear fruit in KZ2, a category in which our chassis is clearly a benchmark this season. I am happy to see that this is also the case in OK-Junior."
